Explore Asian is a great range of traditional noodles made using traditional gluten-free flours. These are a great tie in for us for Hungry Dragon Week as China has a long tradition of making starches from beans and rice that are turned into noodles. Mung bean isn’t just for sprouts and while you may have tried mung bean vermicelli it is a very stable and versatile flour that makes beautifully chewy noodles. In the new additions we have a Red Rice Noodle, a Red Rice Vermicelli and a Brown Rice Noodle that are fantastic served cold in salads or hot in soups and stir fries.
Red rice is a rice grain that contains anthocyanins – these live in plant tissue and act as a powerful antioxidant. It still has its external husk attached so the nutritional value of each grain is much higher. With a nutty taste these are deliciously tasty and good for you!
