Farro Grey Lynn has been identified as a COVID-19 location of interest on the government website.
We have now put the relevant steps in place in line with the Ministry of Health guidelines, which include contacting impacted team members and deep cleaning our store.
The Ministry of Health confirmed a customer at Grey Lynn Farro has tested positive with COVID-19. The infectious customer visited the store on:
Tuesday 17 August between 6:37pm and 6:50pm
Wednesday 18 August between 4:33pm and 4:45pm
What to do if you were in store at this time
Isolate at home for 14 days from date of last exposure. Test immediately, and on days 5 & 12 after last exposure.
Get tested & self-isolate
If you were shopping in store during the above timeframe, or at any of the other locations of interest, it’s extremely important you get tested, self-isolate, and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453. For more information, visit https://covid19.govt.nz/
If you shopped at Farro Grey Lynn on Tuesday 17 August or 18 August at the above times, you will need to get tested:
- Immediately Monday 23 August (Day 5 test)
- Self-Isolate at home
- Then tested again on Monday 30 August (Day 12 test).
After receiving a negative test then you can stop self-isolating on Thursday 2 September, though you will still need to comply with Alert Level rules.
Monitor for Covid-19 Symptoms
If you are experiencing any symptoms, call your GP or Healthline (0800 358 5453) and get tested. The symptoms of COVID-19 are:
- Sneezing and runny nose
- Sore throat
- A new or worsening cough
- A fever at least 38 degrees
- Shortness of breath
- Temporary loss of smell or altered sense of taste
- Muscle pain or body aches
- Nausea and vomiting

Even in you are vaccinated you must stay in isolation for 14 days from the date of exposure. This is because no vaccine is 100 per cent effective. You still may get ill, or pass the virus to others, if you are developing Covid-19.
Store reopens Tuesday 24 August at 9am
The store has been closed from Sunday 22 August to undergo an intensive deep clean. The store will reopen Tuesday 24 August at 9am.
Farro’s commitment remains the same – maintaining the safest shopping environment and protecting the wellbeing of our staff and customers. Grey Lynn Farro is being meticulously cleaned, sanitised, and disinfected by professional cleaners before reopening on Tuesday 24th August at 9am. All Farro staff continue to adhere to our strict hygiene practices of wearing full PPE and maintaining a physical distance.
Farro is working closely with the MOH to trace customers that visited the store at these specified times using the Government Covid-19 tracing app or the store’s written check in form.
