You’d have to have been living under a very large rock to have missed the furore that has befallen the dairy industry in New Zealand these last few months. While we’re still really proud of one of our biggest export industries, its undeniable that the industry is entering a new age – when the quality of our milk and cream is becoming really important again. Enter Lewis Road Creamery.
The passionate folk who had our hearts fluttering over their range of wonderful butters have just introduced Organic Jersey Milk and creams… and my goodness are we smitten. Made with 100% Jersey milk, Lewis Road Milk is also free from permeate and PKE (which is a byproduct of Palm Kernel Oil production and fed to cows when food-levels are low). Jersey cows produce great milk for human consumption – 15% more protein, 18% more calcium and is a great source of essential vitamin B12. Aside from the nutritional benefits, it also tastes really good!
The range includes all the milk varieties you’d expect to find in any chiller – Non-homogenised (silver top), Homogenised (dark blue top), Light (light blue top) and Calcium-Enriched Low Fat (yellow top). There’s also two varieties of cream – regular pouring cream, and double cream – which we’ll tell you more about in time for Christmas! Pick some up in the chilled section today!
