We’re helping our customers transition to no single-use bags from the 1st of July by helping those who may forget to bring their reusable bags when shopping with us.
From Monday 29th of April, we will be trialling a “Share a Bag” stand at Farro Grey Lynn’s checkouts.
Customers can donate any excess reusable bags they may have at home, in the boot of their car or at work, with the intention of other customers using them if they forget their own reusable shopping bags. The next time they’re in, it will be their turn to pay it forward by leaving a reusable bag in the box for the next customer.
Farro is about reduction, re-use and the empowerment of everyone to ensure our actions are focusing on delivering a more sustainable future.
The Share a Bag trial is just one of our recently implemented sustainability initiatives. Other initiatives include launching BYO containers across all stores, changing to 100% plant-based compostable cutlery, napkins and containers, working in collaboration with our suppliers and food producers to consider the total product lifecycle, partnering with Fair Food to reduce the amount of food waste and more.
