A classic Gouda transformed by subtle garlic and chive undertones.
This certified-organic, multi award winning Gouda is a semi-hard cheese, made using traditional Dutch techniques. Subtle nutty and sweet flavours coalesce with the punchy, sharp flavours of garlic and chive.
Pairs beautifully with Farro’s Salame Finocchiona on the cheeseboard, alongside a glass of Matawhero Single Vineyard Chardonnay. We also suggest melting into toasted sandwiches or baked into dishes like potato gratin to add a garlicky, cheesy kick.
About the cheese
The Cheese Barn follow a traditional Dutch recipe using organic, unhomogenised milk. The Gouda is then matured for at least 4-6 months before it is cut to begin developing its flavour. Winning medals for three years straight at the NZ Champions of Cheese awards, we think The Cheese Barn are on to something here!
