This recipe from Little Bird Organics adds a good dose of omega 3, amino acid and protein-rich hemp seeds to your almond milk so you get even more goodness per sip.
¾ cup almonds (soaked 10−12 hours)
¼ cup hemp seeds
pinch sea salt
2½ cups filtered water
optional — 1 pitted date (if you like things a little sweeter)
Drain soaked almonds and rinse thoroughly. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high for 2 minutes until well combined
Strain through a nut milk bag or fine cheesecloth. The result should be a lovely smooth milk that doesn’t contain any grainy pieces. Strain again or use a finer weave cloth if this happens
Pour into a bottle or sealed container and keep refrigerated. Will keep for at least 3 days
