
A stiff drink always warms the cockles on a chilly winter’s eve, and this easy twist (ba dum tss) adds a beautiful floral note to the classic dirty martini, while still playing nicely with the olive brine.
For the orange vermouth:
1/4 cup dry vermouth
Peel of one small orange
For the martini:
45ml vodka
30ml orange vermouth
15ml olive brine (or to taste)
Olives and extra orange peel to garnish
For the orange vermouth:
A few hours before making the drink, add the peel of a small orange to a jar filled with a quarter cup of dry vermouth, and leave in the fridge to infuse.
For the martini:
In a mixing glass, add your vodka, olive brine, and orange vermouth. Fill the glass with ice and stir gently until the sides of the glass are very cold.
Strain the drink into a chilled glass and top with an olive wrapped in orange peel.
