Inspired by the Big Easy, this is one of our favourite dessert-y snack hacks. Fried pizza dough. Flavoured icing sugar. Sorted.
1 packet Dough Council pizza dough
Oil, for frying
Fresh As icing mix (we used blueberry)
Defrost the pizza dough and on a floured bench. Shape into a rectangle approximately 1cm thick. Leave to rise for an hour.
In a small saucepan, heat the oil to 180°C. Cut the dough into 3-4cm squares using a floured knife. In batches, fry the dough squares in the hot oil for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden on both sides.
Put onto a tray lined with paper towels to drain, then dust generously with the Fresh As icing mix. Enjoy them as-is, or serve with Farro custard and three berry sauce alongside.
